Custom Prinz 12/5 Vintage Hammer Dulcimer

Harvey Prinz made hammered dulcimers in the Kansas City area, and his instruments exhibit superior craftsmanship. This instrument was built in 1979, and is solid hardwoods (walnut and maple) with a cedar floating soundboard. Prinz instruments tune to superior precision due to his unique use of a set of alignment pins, similar to the way a piano is built. There are 12 courses running over the treble bridge and 5 over the bass. Resonates beautifully but is in need of a tuning and replacement of two missing strings on the same course.

Includes tuning wrench and hammers.
