Custom Vintage Oscar Schmidt Hawaian Ukele from 1920s Koa

UPDATE 10/12/2016:  Quote from a Vintage Instrument Dealer: "Wow, you have a nice.higher-grade Schmidt. Mid-1920s is when it was made. When it was built yours was aimed more at the pro market than the student one and its being made from koa wood with the fancy fretboard extension and fretboard inlay is quite rare. A cool uke!"
This is my Father's Ukulele believed to be a Vintage Oscar Schmidt "Genuine Hawaian Ukele" Believed to be 1920's model. Buyer must do their own due diligence as this instrument has been very difficult to pinpoint an exact maker.

This beautiful Ukelele was given to my father (his parents) as a gift when he was born by his uncle.  His Uncle John was in General George Patton's 3rd Army 95th Division and traveled extensively around the world.

I did bring it to renowned guitar luthier Paul Unkert, who also builds Ukeles on the side.  He made a repair on it's side a few years ago.  No issues. He couldn't identify a particular maker but was extremely impressed by the detailed inlay work and also the bridge shape.  So much so that he said he will make his modern ukeleles with a similar bridge. We do know that it is a beautiful Koa wood (to me it looks like a lighter Brazillian Rosewood used on guitars)  but it is definitely Koa.
